THE ICD BUSINESS SCHOOL ON THE WAY TO THE FINAL!

This year, more than 2000 students competed all over France for the qualifications of the Négociales 2022. Among them, 6 ICDians who will compete for the number one spot, on March 23rd and 24th, 2022 in Epinal. The Négociales are real role-playing games, in which young future salespeople get involved in the face of professionals who have come to give them a repartee. The Challenge des Négociales has now become a springboard to professional life for the future businessmen who take part in the event and a privileged place of recruitment for companies. Let's discover, through a tailored interview, three of our finalists.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF IN A FEW WORDS

Hello my name is Stephen BANAMWANA and I am in the 3rd year of the Bachelor in Management Sciences of l’ICD Business School.

 

WHAT IS YOUR JOURNEY BEFORE AND DURING LES NEGOCIALES?

I followed the courses of Mr. Ron Evret which allowed me to practice several typical cases. One week before the start of the competition.
As far as the subject is concerned, I came across a case of Wurth (in the morning) and Groupama (in the afternoon). Having prepared well beforehand, I was confident. I didn't really feel any stress. The many exercises I did in class helped me a lot and allowed me to start the competition being optimistic and convinced of my abilities.

 

WHAT IS THE SENSATION OF BEING IN THE FINAL?

It's a very nice surprise, I didn't really expect it, so I'm already very happy to have reached this stage.

 

WHY DID YOU PARTICIPATE IN LES NEGOCIALES?

I think it's a good way to assess your negotiating skills in conditions that are close to reality. In addition, the negotiations are part of my course so it was a must for me. Mandatory or not, I still would’ve registered!

 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ARGUMENT TECHNIQUE?

I don't have a favorite technique, I just like to follow a certain plan that I studied and adapt to the buyer to meet their needs. This is the most important.

 

WHAT ARE THE POSITIVE AND/OR NEGATIVE POINTS OF THE CONTEST?

I was able to be empathetic and sympathetic, which is important. The first image we give to the buyer is crucial! But I lacked precision in my offers. A point on which I had time to improve before the final.

 

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE NOTICED BY A COMPANY? IF YES WHICH, IF NOT, WHY?

I’d like it because it can bring me great experience but also enhance my skills. My training would not have been for nothing and I would be all the more confident about my next negotiations. However, I don't have a particular company in mind.

 

DO YOU THINK YOU CAN WIN THE NEGOCIALES? WHY ?

I really don't know, it's already a great joy and a surprise to be in the final. I just want to take full advantage and show what I am capable of. From there, anything is possible. I believe it.

My name is Mattéo Venturelli, I am 20 years old and I am currently in the 3rd year of the Bachelor in Management Sciences at l’ICD Business School Paris. I’m doing my work-study course as a B to B salesperson for Qr Design. My main mission is to prospect and set up client meetings. I enjoy my commercial activity and my goal, in parallel with my studies, is to develop a business even if it may seem ambitious.

 

WHAT IS YOUR JOURNEY BEFORE AND DURING THE NEGOCIALES?

We were confronted with many hours of practical cases through simulations under the supervision of our teacher in Commercial Negotiation, Mr. Ron Evret. I am certainly a little stressed and I think that is completely normal. However, thanks to my work-study activity, I have learned to manage this stress.

 

WHAT IS THE SENSATION OF BEING IN THE FINAL?

I'm very happy to be in the final! This is a great opportunity for us to showcase our intellectual and professional abilities. It is also an opportunity to get noticed by some large companies and of course represent the colors of  l’ICD Business School in front of the jury.

 

WHY DID YOU PARTICIPATE IN LES NEGOCIALES?

In the second year, I took part in the Négociales as a jury assistant. My goal was therefore to participate as a candidate. And here I am! We will also be graded for this module. I killed two birds with one stone!

 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ARGUMENT TECHNIQUE?

I don't really have specific techniques, however I use CAP SONCAS a lot. It is the combination of two sales techniques: the CAP (Characteristics-Advantages-Proofs) allowing to build a structured sales pitch and the SONCAS (Security-Pride-Novelty-Comfort-Money-Sympathy) allowing to identify the 6 motivations purchase from a customer.

 

WHAT ARE THE POSITIVE AND/OR NEGATIVE POINTS OF THE CONTEST?

It's a great way to create your professional network, several large companies will be present during the two days. However the location (Epinal) is the negative point for me. I’ll miss 3 days of work to the great regret of my tutor.

 

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE NOTICED BY A COMPANY? IF YES WHICH, IF NOT, WHY?

Not any group in particular, I like the values ​​and the functioning of the Würth group but I remain attentive to all opportunities.

 

DO YOU THINK YOU CAN WIN THE NEGOCIALES? WHY ?

Nothing is impossible, we'll see!

My name is Ewann Bouraima. I am 20 years old and I am currently in the 3rd year of the Bachelor in Management Sciences. I am doing my work-study course in the field of real estate, which I really like, as well as that of the automobile.

 

WHAT IS YOUR JOURNEY BEFORE AND DURING THE NEGOCIALES?

I prepared myself a lot using my personal knowledge and thanks to my professional experience in the field of real estate. I also studied some subjects in class, this allowed me to have the necessary tools for this competition. Despite everything, I felt a bit of stress during qualifying. However, I managed to adapt quickly and qualify!

 

WHAT IS THE SENSATION OF BEING IN THE FINAL?

For the moment I keep my head on my shoulders but I would be all the happier if I won the contest!

 

WHY DID YOU PARTICIPATE IN LES NEGOCIALES?

I participated in the Négociales because it is part of my course but I did not expect to go so far.

 

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ARGUMENT TECHNIQUE?

My favorite argumentation technique is the refusal of a signature for which I compensate by making another appointment.

 

WHAT ARE THE POSITIVE AND/OR NEGATIVE POINTS OF THE CONTEST?

The positive points are autonomy and good stress. Regarding the negative points, it would be the desire to do well in order to get a good grade.

 

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE NOTICED BY A COMPANY? IF YES WHICH, IF NOT, WHY?

I would like to be noticed by a company in real estate/building but also in the automotive field because I particularly like these two fields. Fingers crossed!

 

DO YOU THINK YOU CAN WIN THE NEGOCIALES? WHY ?

I think I can win Les Négociales, given my skills and my thirst for learning.
