What is your job? And what is the objective of your job?

I work as a program manager for the first cycle of the Bachelor's degree in Management Sciences. The objective of my profession is to accompany students throughout their studies at the ICD Business School Paris, from their recruitment to their graduation.

How did you get into this profession?

I came into the profession quite by chance! I have a master's degree in Sociology but I have worked in the field of commerce all my life. I began in a shop, then in a sales department, and finally in the management department of a large retailer. Having a rather atypical educational background where I was looking for myself for a long time, I have always been wondering how to help the younger generation to find the right path, in what really interests them. This is why I joined the IGS Group in 2013 and more recently the ICD Business School.

What is your daily activity? What is a typical day?

My day-to-day activity consists of managing groups of learners, and being available for them and for the teachers to ensure the proper functioning of each one's schooling. This requires a lot of availability, listening and caring. There is no real typical day and that is what is so exhilarating about my job. Every day is unique.

What do you like best?

My favourite thing is the relationship you build over the years with the learners you follow for several years. I feel that I am helping them to "grow up" and I am proud to accompany them in the acquisition of real professional skills until graduation.

I always feel sad to see them leave at the end of their course and I keep in touch with many of them. This job would not be possible without teamwork and collaboration with the whole ICD Business School team and this is what I appreciate very much.

Who are your interlocutors?

My interlocutors are very varied, first of all the students, the teachers, the whole ICD Business School team, the international department, the companies and the parents.

Why do you like working in an academic environment?

As I mentioned above, I still receive too many young people who are returning to school, a little lost, who do not really know what they want to do, who have not had the benefit of sound orientation advice. I hope to help them find their way, thanks to me.

Do you have a memorable anecdote or memory?

I have hundreds of memories, not one better than the other! They range from the mother who is studying again and graduates top of her class and gets a job in a large company. And who thanked me a thousand times for having accepted him into the training course, from a very endearing but not very hard-working young man whom I trusted and who obtained his diploma despite the difficulties. The convivial moments shared outside the classroom which allow us to see our learners in a different light. The little words of each one that I keep preciously to thank me for my daily follow-up and for some of them, for having changed their lives.
