WHAT IS YOUR JOB ? WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE OF YOUR JOB?

I am Lei Sabrina, training manager for the MBA and Msc programs at ICD Business School. My missions consist of: supporting international students throughout their schooling at ICD (from registration to graduation), contributing to the educational development of programs and participating in events organized at the school. The main objective is to ensure quality in student monitoring by maintaining a close relationship with students.

HOW DID YOU END UP WORKING HERE?

Graduated with a Master's degree in Oriental Languages, Letters and Civilizations at the University of Paris 7 Denis, my department director offered me to stay in the establishment for a position of "Educational Manager" in order to manage training on the languages of East Asia. It was my first professional experience in higher education while being linked to the international community. Subsequently, I joined the continuing education department at Paris Dauphine University. After 5 years, I decided to leave the public environment to discover the private sector, hence my arrival at ICD Business School in September 2018 as a teaching assistant, then as a “training manager” since July 2021.

WHAT IS YOUR DAILY ACTIVITY? WHAT IS A TYPICAL DAY LIKE?

There really isn't a typical day. Everyday is never the same. This is what constitutes the diversity of the job. With my collaborator, Dareyni, our daily life mainly consists of responding to the needs and questions of students, managing emergencies related to the organization of courses while continuing to carry out the various educational and administrative missions that we have.

WHAT DO YOU PREFER/LIKE IN YOUR FIELD?

I like being in contact, exchanges and collaborative work. Communication and team spirit make the workplace more lively and dynamic.<

WHO ARE YOUR CONTACTS?

My main contacts are: students, trainers, other services (school and group), companies, among others. It's a whole ecosystem that revolves around my job. Each element is important and contributes to the establishment of an ideal environment so that students can study with complete peace of mind. A very big challenge!

WHY DO YOU LIKE WORKING IN THE STUDENT ENVIRONMENT?

I chose to work in this environment because I want to support students: listen to them, discuss with them, watch them acquire an increasingly professional posture, see them satisfied with the program, and watch them succeed. It is a great source of satisfaction and pride to see a student evolve from his beginnings until the day of his graduation. Feels like you somewhat contributed to it on your own scale.

DO YOU HAVE AN ANECDOTE OR A MEMORY YOU'D LIKE TO SHARE?

One of my most memorable memories was supporting my 2nd year MBA Commerce & Marketing students during Business in Europe week. During this week, we made company visits and attended various professional conferences together. It allowed me :

  • to follow the students closely, to be present at their side and to have lengthy exchanges with them.
  • to implement teamwork with my colleagues from different departments, such as communication and corporate relations (in particular, with Sabine FRANQUET responsible for internships)
  • The positive feedback from students on the content and program of the week also confirmed their satisfaction.
