Practical Information

If you land in Paris Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG), you may take the RER B line, a direct rail link between Paris (Denfert-Rochereau, Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame, Châtelet-Les-Halles, Gare du Nord) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, to reach Gare du Nord. It takes around 25 minutes.

From Gare du Nord, it takes 10 minutes on foot to reach ICD Business School, Paris Campus.

RER B stations at Paris-CDG airport :
Terminals 1 and 3: "Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1" station

• Terminal 1 is available by free CDGVAL shuttle (journey time: 6 minutes).
• Terminal 3 is available by pedestrian walkway.

Terminal 2 : "Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV" station

• Terminals 2C, 2D, 2E et 2F are available by foot and by moving walkway.
• Terminal 2A is available by foot or by free N1 shuttle from RER station, level 5.
• Terminal 2G is available by free N2 shuttle, from Terminal 2F, exit 2.10.

If you land in Aeroport Toulouse Blagnac, it will be only a 5 minutes’ drive away from our Toulouse Campus.You may choose to take a taxi, which can be reserved at any time using the Airport call center

STUDENT LIFE IN TOULOUSE

By opting to study at our business school in Toulouse, you’ll be choosing a city with numerous parks and benefitting from a Mediterranean climate.

It also means you’ll be able to benefit from the nearby Pyrenees mountains or the Spanish frontier, where you can spend a weekend at the beach with your friends!

Toulouse is renowned for its vibrant nightlife and numerous bars and restaurants, especially popular with students during the summer weather when they meet up in the famous Saint Pierre Square. Whether visiting museums or going to exhibitions and concerts, Toulouse will also offer you a wide range of cultural activities and events throughout the year.

Toulouse is cosmopolitan, colourful and lively student city.  It offers amazing opportunities for leisure and cultural activities, ideally located only 1h30 from Spain, the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and the ski resorts of the Pyrenees Mountains. The IGS Blagnac campus is connected in just 15 minutes by tramway to the Place du Capitole and Toulouse city centre. In Toulouse city centre, there are no fewer than 800 hectares of parks open to the general public. Some of the most popular include:

• Le jardin des plantes: previously a botanic garden
• Le jardin royal: the first ever public garden in Toulouse, dating from 1754
• Le jardin Raymond VI: next to the ‘Abattoirs’ modern & contemporary art museum

In total, there are no fewer than 161 parks and public gardens located in Toulouse representing the city’s ‘green lung’.

Paris, the capital of France, is a major world metropolis and center for culture, art, fashion, gastronomy, and intellectual life. The Seine river traverses the city; its waterways, quays, and bridges are major thoroughfares but also ways to see the city’s most famous monuments, such as the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre museum, and the Notre Dame cathedral. The city is known for its cafés (one for every 200 inhabitants); its parks (Bois de Boulogne, Jardin de Luxembourg, Bois de Vincennes); its street life and markets, and as a magnet for visitors from around the world. The city is divided into 20 different arrondissements, or districts, which number from 1st to 20th. The first is in the center of Paris and the others spread around it in a counter clockwise snail shell shape. ICD is located in the central 10th district, close to the famous canal Saint Martin. It is an ideal location for students.  The district is buzzing with a variety of shops, restaurants, bars and sports or cultural activities on offer. 

The climate in Paris is mild, though this is obviously very much a question of personal appreciation. The temperature rarely drops below 0°C and is pleasantly warm in spring and summer, rarely exceeding 30°C. The wind chill factor, especially on those wide Parisian boulevards can make it seem colder, but you don't really need heavy duty winter wear, unless you are a chilly. Current students stress that it gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter, but Paris rarely gets snowboun. CIUP is a sprawling collection of university residence that provides accommodation for 6,000 students, scholars, scientists, etc. all over the world. Rent varies depending on the amenities provided, duration of stay, age, etc.

To find accommodation on the International Campus, irrespective of the time of year: students must be enrolled in a higher education establishment (priority is given to the Ile-de-France) and must be studying towards a diploma at the minimum level of Master’s 1 or the equivalent, researchers must hold a doctorate.

For CAF – Housing Allowance (aide au logement) :

Once you rent your accommodation, be it a room, apartment or student residence, you can apply for a housing grant – ALS (Allocation de Logement Sociale).

In order to be eligible for a housing allowance, your rental must be legal and above board as you will have to provide proof of your rental agreement and payments. Besides, you must be living in France for at least 3 months, have signed a rental agreement, and have a French bank account. There are a number of conditions to meet before obtaining the grant.

BANKING

Bank account is important for you to receive Financial Aid for housing, reimbursement of medical expenses etc. In fact, owning a French bank account is a right recognized by French authorities. Foreign students can open a bank account in any bank in France.

STATE HEALTH INSURANCE

As of 2018-2019, all students in France, including foreign students who reside in France for more than 3 months, benefit from COMPULSORY free state health insurance.

Foreign students must register at etudiant etranger to obtain the Health Insurance number. The required documents include:

• a birth certificate in French (English or Spanish birth certificates are accepted)
• your school’s enrollment certificate
• banking information
• a passport and a valid visa or residence permit.

Exceptions:

• Citizen of the EU/EEA or Switzerland, can request for a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which serves as a proof of membership in a European health insurance scheme, before their departure to France. They do not need to register online. During their stay in France, students can show this card to the health professionals and healthcare facilities for their medical visits.
• Family member of an international civil servant and covered as such by the health insurance scheme established by the international organization which the family member belongs (e.g. the European Union social security scheme), do not have to register on this website.
• Quebec residents, Andorran and EU/EEE or Swiss citizens who do not have an EHIC card must follow certain specific procedures to register with French state health insurance. These procedures require them to obtain certain documents in their home country before coming to France.

CVEC Contribution (Not applicable to Exchange Students)

The CVEC contribution is used to finance social, health, cultural, and sporting support and actions for students and to reinforce prevention and health education initiatives. This is a MANDATORY procedure (for student with a VLS-TS or VLS visa). Higher education institutions are required by law to verify that students have paid the contribution and are not allowed to register them if they haven’t paid. For registration, please visit

CVEC

Students must bring their National Student Identification (INE) number (if they do not have one, they can obtain a provisional INE on the site).

Amount of the CVEC: 95 € to be paid online. Once the payment is made online, the student will receive a receipt immediately.
